Indigestion During Pregnancy? Arrrggg

I have been experiencing indigestion lately during bed time and I really really hate it. I couldn't sleep and the taste from my throat is just disgusting. I think its been almost 2 weeks now that I have indigestion. I don't want to take any medicine so what I do is just put more pillows on my back and just sit until its gone. Sometimes after vomiting, I feel better.

I know it is not only me whose experiencing this. I took time to read some articles online about indigestion during pregnancy and I am right. Heartburn or indigestion is a common problem of pregnant women. During pregnancy, progesterone and estrogen are at work relaxing the stomach muscles. That means food will stay in the stomach longer and cause to feel bloated and feel the ill-effects of indigestion. Also, as the womb grows, it presses on the stomach, causing indigestion and heartburn.

To prevent indigestion, here's some tips

• Try eating smaller meals a few times during the day rather than one or two big meals
• Sit up straight when eating as this will take the strain off your stomach

• Sleep well propped up; use lots of pillows on your bed
• Drink plenty of milk and always keep a glass nearby in case you wake up with heartburn during the night
• Don't eat or drink before you go to bed
• Don't take antacid tablets before checking whether they are safe during pregnancy
• Reduce concentrated sugars and fats
• Eat more complex carbohydrates such as breads, cereals, pasta, rice and whole bran

Typhoon Ondoy in Manila, Philippines

I really feel sorry for all the victims of the typhoon. It is very heart breaking and I couldn't help myself crying while watching the video. Many people died, many homes are totally damaged, and cars are floating everywhere. I can't imagine myself being there, or my family. I worked in Manila last 2006 and I am lucky I haven't able to experience this kind of typhoon. I remember there was a typhoon when I was in Manila but not as bad as typhoon Ondoy. I wish I could do something to help the victims. All I can do is to pray for those who died and those who survived and safe. Please pray for them too!! We Had Flu Vaccine

Yesterday, my husband and I had our flu vaccine. Finally I made my husband have one because he never have one before. He didn't care about vaccination before but now he have to. We Should Get Flu Vaccine

According to CDC, if we want to reduce chances of getting seasonal flu, we can get a seasonal influenza vaccine. However, it is recommended that certain people should get vaccinated each year. New Ultrasound Pics of Our Baby Girl

This morning we went to my ob-gyn for my regular check up and for the second ultrasound. Everything went well and I'm doing great my doctor said. I gained pounds and he wants me to gain more. I gained a total of 28 lbs within 7 months. The baby is now 4.14 lbs. We got some photos of her on my tummy today. She got her mom's nose for sure this time and I hope it will still change. I want her to have Jeff's. I know there will be more changes to happen in the next weeks.

Still Awake

Vicy is still awake and it's almost 1 am now. Hubby is sleeping already. This is the problem when I sleep during the day then I couldn't sleep during the night when it's time for bed. Owls in Our Backyard

I just wanna share here some photos of owls that we saw in our backyard palm tree. There were 4 owls at the same time when we saw them. It was my very first time to see owls. We're thinking that they are family because they come altogether always. We watched them flew from the tree and they stayed at the hole near the canal, they live there. They looked so scary because their eyes are big and they were watching us. They are also huge and could attack our dogs if we didn't watch them every time they needed to go outside for pee. I've taken these photos month ago and forgot to post it.

Finally We Have the Crib Delivered

Hubby and I are very excited and happy because we have the crib for our baby girl. Baby's R Us delivered it yesterday morning while I was sleeping. I just saw it at the baby's room when I went there to clean. It is still on the box though but at least it's here now. We will have it assemble tomorrow. My Seven Month of Pregnancy

I am really curious about what my baby girl looks like now that I am 7 months pregnant. I noticed that she moves a lot than ever most of the time. It's like she's awake the whole day, no sleeping. I research online about my baby's development, changes for me and here's what I found:

Baby's Growth

Your baby is growing fast, and space is getting tight. He may wiggle if he gets uncomfortable. As he becomes more oriented in space, he may move to a head down position.

Your baby can see, although the view from the uterus looks mostly like a dull glow when it is bright and just black when it is dark. Even this little difference in lightness helps him begin to adjust to the day and night cycle where he lives.

He can also hear, although most sounds are muffled. He is already becoming accustomed to mommy and daddy's voices, as well as the sounds that are familiar where you live. He is learning to feel comfortable with the music you listen too, other people you live with, pet noises and regular life around you.

He can also taste, although the flavors of the amniotic fluid are subtle. What you eat can change the flavor of the amniotic fluid, so he is already becoming accustomed to the types of food you eat.

His lungs are preparing for breathing, and his movements give his muscles exercise. There is tremendous brain and nervous system growth taking place this month. He is also beginning to be able to have some ability to regulate his body temperature. His bone marrow is now fully responsible for making his blood, and he passes about 1 pint of urine every day. The fat developing under his skin helps to smooth out the wrinkles as it gives him energy stores for the first few days of life.

At the end of the 28th week your baby will be around 11 inches from crown to rump and weigh 3 pounds.

Mom's Changes

As you make the move to the third trimester, the large size of the uterus is forcing it to take up room in the pelvic area again, which may bring back frequent urination. The increasing size of the uterus also may begin to cause some back pain. Good posture, low heeled shoes and pelvic rocking will help to minimize backaches.

Your increased size brings with it some difficulty sleeping. Use extra pillows to make yourself comfortable, or try other sleeping arrangements such as a couch or a guest bed.

Even if you are not leaking fluid, the colostrum has formed in your breasts. It is not complete, however. The antibiotic properties for which colostrum is famous will not appear until some time during labor.

Constipation and hemorrhoids may become a problem. Put a low stool under your feet as you use the toilet to realign your body in a gentler potty position.

Going to the Gym again

As usual every week nights me and hubby go to the gym together. Hubby is doing the weights while I watch him. I just love to be with him always especially when he's not working. We are Waiting for the Crib

Jeff and I ordered this cute, nice and simple crib last Sunday at babies R Us. We were so excited to buy it that day and was looking forward to it during the past weeks but unfortunately there were no stock. We need to order it and will be delivered in about 2 - 4 weeks. We had no choice but to order the crib and wait for the delivery. There's nothing we can do this time but to wait and then when the crib arrives, we have to assemble it which I think a little difficult so maybe we will just hire somebody to do it.

Thanks God I Passed the 3 Hour Glucose Test

I have good news to share, I passed the test. My Ob-gyn told me the news this morning. He said I can eat sweets again which makes me happy because honestly I didn't gain enough weight lately from almost totally stopping eating sweets. My doctor asked me why I had high blood sugar on my first test and during the second test it was low. He also asked me if we have diabetes history in our family and I said my GrandPa.

I am really happy that everything went well today besides from me not gaining enough weight. Now I have to eat more because my doctor told me to. My next appointment will be in two weeks. Jeff and I are so excited because it will be ultra sound time again. We will see our baby girl again inside my tummy. She was 20 weeks when we first saw her and now she's a little bigger.

Good morning!!Surprise!!I'm kidding..hehe!!I am awake now because we're going to my Ob-gyn again. It's my regular check up and hope everything is well with my 3 hour glucose test last time. Well, they normally call whenever there is problem but they didn't so maybe all is well, let's see. I'm praying for that because I don't wanna suffer even though it's my fault coz I always eat sweets during my first trimester which is really bad.
